Integrated riding
Integra Riding Education is leading to a diploma in Integrated Riding.
The education is for those who are riding teachers or who already teach riding.
You will benefit from the education if you have
wishes or ambitions of the following:
“You want to teach in the spirit that shows respect for people as well as
horses with the emphasis on the pedagogy of learning for both species.”
“You want to learn how teachability works for both two-legged and four-legged beings and want to work toward a positive and sound development of physical and emotional skills for both horse and rider.”
We expect You to have basic horse-knowledge equivalent to the exam of a horsegroom. You should be a patient nature with good social skills with a teachable attitude. The course approach is based on problem-solving. There will be theory lessons but the emphasis is on the practical experiences. The students will recieve theoretical and practical homework to solve in between the seminars. The education will include the following elements:
- classical riding
- work in hand
- work on a lunge-line
- work with obstacles and cavalettiwork
- exercises for the riders without horses to develop awareness of the body to gain better coordination, balance and fine-motorcontrol.
- Teaching pedagogy
- Basic orientation in horse-massage, hoof maintenance, feeding, equipment and horsemanagement
The education is stretched over a two and a half year period and is based upon a series of 4 day seminars with several weeks in between.
There are a total of 40 days of teaching including the final seminar and
final certifying exam. You take part with your own horse which must be broken in or ridable, you should be in good physcical condition and be able to show that you master the classical concepts of walk, trot and canter with your horse. You may also participate in the course on foot
leading to a certificate of participation (but not a teaching diploma).

The institute is planning to allow for the education in Integrated riding in other areas of Sweden as well as Norway, Finand and Denmark.
